Needless to say, I really love your work. Today, I just got the first issue of The Light and can't wait to read it.
I've done humor comics and now would like to delve into more dramatic work. I'd like to learn your digital coloring process. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you use Faux Finish brushes in PShop to create those rich textures. Any insight into the way you choose colors, how you create textures, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Other than the Pshop chalk brush, most of the brushes come from elsewhere. Some are watercolor textures scanned in, some I've found around the web.
I really only use a small handful of color swatches. It's mostly about using layer modes. Color Burn will give you that rich saturated color, while Overlay and Color Dodge will add that brightness.
I'm planning on doing a series of quick tutorials showing some of this in action.

And I definitely would love to see a tutorial of your coloring/digital painting techniques. I've seen some other tutorials online but they're mostly for photorealistic style, which is cool, but I want to do more evocative/ expressionistic type of stuff.
I don't know exactly how but I saw a link to a movie that showed your digital inking technique. When I try the link the movie doesn't come up.
Lastly, I saw on etsy that the original pages for your comics are 8.5 x 14, which is pretty small. I So how big is the active field within the page?

active field is about 11 x 7.
